Create a Video for the Flipped Class

This video was created on WizIQ live online class. The video was created during a live online class for students of Learn English Online (LEO) as a flipped classroom. Students will access the video before their next live online class. In addition, students can ask question throughout the week before the class. Teachers and students join the course so they can learn about and practice learning and teaching online. You are invited to join the course and become an active language learner: http://www.wiziq.com/course/4174-learn-english-online-leo

Weekly English Workout (WEW) on WizIQ

We spend hours doing things for others, whether at home and at the office or school. Isn't it time we found time to devote to ourselves? Take some time off and listen to music, walk for no reason in the park, or do things that were unrelated to work or family.
I have been practicing mindful living and relaxation for a number of years, so I can improve the quality of my mind and heart. That's all I needed, so that I can recharge and manage everything else in my life. One way of taking time off from my duties and turning to myself is through learning and music.
Learning without stress and having fun is a great way to start the new year. Jason R. Levine is going to give live sessions with recordings, so we can listen to music and relax anywhere and at any time with the recordings. Join the fun starting January 13, 2013

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I would like to inform you of two courses that will be taking place in mid November. Moodle for Admin teachers and Moodle for Teachers.

Moodle for Teacher administrator (M4TA) 6-week online workshop for those who wish to be administrators of 2.0 or 1.9 Moodle (see syllabus). The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Nellie Deutsch, an experienced admin of a few Moodles and facilitator of Moodle for Teachers workshops and Dariem Garcés Urquiza the tech support person for IT4ALL and creator of the WebQuest module for Moodle. Join the next workshop to ensure your place (first 20). The tuition for the workshop is $150. Please email Dr. Nellie Deutsch for further information. Certificates of Completion are available for those who complete all the assignments for free.

Moodle for Teachers (M4T) introduction to Moodle course is available on the 15th of each month with full facilitator support. The class duration is 2 weeks and the tuition is $20. Participants learn about Moodle as a course and learning management system. They learn about Moodle blocks, resources and activities as learners in week 1 and practice as teachers in week 2 of the course. The courses are filling up fast and we do not take over 15 participants per course. Here's the link to join the next course that will be starting on November 15, 2012: http://www.integrating-technology.org/course/view.php?id=430 You may pass on the information to your friends and colleagues.

Teaching and sharing information is a big part of my life. I believe that connecting for learning is a great way to make a difference to people and relationships so that we can gain personal, public and eventually world peace. Teaching with caring is one step.

I'd like to share a video session of a live online class that I hope will provide a bit about my philosophy of teaching that I gave on Teaching with Caring at the postgraduate program at the University of Salford:

Happy Mooding!

Thank you for your support.

Warm wishes,

Nellie
